Taxi fare : Kanazawa -> Shirakawa-go

Does anyone know how much a taxi may cost for the above journey ?

Do the taxi companies increase prices on the winter illumination at Shirakawa-go days ?

There are some taxi companies in Kanazawa operating special tour for the winter illumination in Shirakawago.

This is one of them and they are doing 白川郷ライトアップ (Shirakawago light-up) tour for 36000 yen round trip. This does not include toll fee (may be around 5000 yen round trip, I am not sure) and 協力金 (co-operational charge to Shirakawago, 1000 yen per car).

That says, apparently some people are doing this kind of tour even though it is expensive, since there might not be other options.

You might also want to check this bus from Takaoka/Shin-Takaoka.

The link is extremely useful; was not aware of such buses.
Would still prefer to spend a night there if we can, but if there are no bus tickets then a bus tour will also suffce for us.

Incidentally, does anyone know how to obtain the shuttle tickets between Shirakawa-go and the observation viewpoint ?
