Hello!
Me and my friend are planning a trip to japan on april. we already booked flight and apertments :)
we are now wandering if we should buy train (and something else?) tickets beforehand. And if we should, how much time before the date?

For peace of mind, I always make seat reservations for long distance trips by train, but they are not required for most trains (except a small number of them). Reservations for some trains can be made from overseas, but most trains cannot be reserved from overseas and can only be done once you arrive in Japan.
