Hi, planning on going to Himeji Castle and wanted to know if you go inside the castle do you have to go right to the top floor or can you turn around half way and go down. I want to see the inside but know with knee injury I won't be able to climb all the steep stairs. Any help would be much appreciated.

No, you don't have to go to the top. You can turn around earlier at various points.

There are other stairs/steps in/around the castle that might give you problems, but most people manage.

There's absolutely nothing inside but blank floors and walls.
