Help with trip plan in late March-early April 2018/1/19 14:59
Hi everyone,

This is going to be our 5th time in Japan, and we feel like there is still much to see.
We are going to be in Japan on March 29th-April 7th (10 nights). We already have the hotels reservations so it's 5 nights in Tokyo and after that 5 nights in Osaka, we would like to ask the following:

1. Are we going to catch the peak of the cherry blossom?
2. Should we make a day trip from Osaka to Yoshino, or is it too early?
3. What day trips should we make from Tokyo?
4. Is there a good view of Mt. Fuji that time of the year from Kawagujiko? (can this be done in one day?)
5. We have never been to a snow onsen, can you please recommend one that is possible in a day trip (to be back in Tokyo or Osaka in the same day).
6. Is the snow monkey park doable in a day trip from Tokyo? will there be snow there that time of year?
7. Please make recommendations of nice day trips from Tokyo and Osaka (we have been to Kyoto, Hiroshima, Kobe and Miyajima already).

Thank you!

1. Are we going to catch the peak of the cherry blossom?
You are here during two weeks that most likely have peak in some places during that time. Where and when exactly depends from each year. You can check on this webpage here where there will be a Sakura report. Or other webpages.
2. Should we make a day trip from Osaka to Yoshino, or is it too early?
As it is a day trip you donft need to decide now. Just check the Sakura report when you are here.
3. What day trips should we make from Tokyo?
Not knowing which you have already made the typical list would be Kamakura, Nikko, Enoshima, Yokohama, Takaosan ...
5. We have never been to a snow onsen, can you please recommend one that is possible in a day trip (to be back in Tokyo or Osaka in the same day).

End March sounds a bit too late for snow onsen to me. If anything you would need to look at places in Tohoku or maybe Niigata. But as a day trip this might be challenging.
6. Is the snow monkey park doable in a day trip from Tokyo? will there be snow there that time of year?
It might be too late for snow, but hard to predict. As a daytrip, just check out the travel times. I would say no, because it is quite remote. But maybe if you get up really early it is doable.
7. Please make recommendations of nice day trips from Tokyo and Osaka (we have been to Kyoto, Hiroshima, Kobe and Miyajima already).Tokyo, See above. Osaka: more Kyoto, Nara, Uji, inner Nara prefecture, Kobe , himeiji, Biwako, Okayama, Aijima... have a look at this webpage and you will discover many.

Enjoy your trip to Japan!
