Kansai wide area pass

Hi everyone,
I will be traveling from Osaka to - Kinosaki - Tottori - himeji- Nagoya. Ifm considering the Kansai wide area pass. Can you give me some advise as to whether it is worth using? The pass issues only unreserved seats. Is the ride from Osaka to Kinosaki usually crowded?

The direct route between Tottori and Himeji is not covered. Need to add 3100 yen. You can go a longer way adding 2.5 hours travel time but is free.
Maibara to Nagoya is not covered either. Add about the same.

Is the ride from Osaka to Kinosaki usually crowded?
When are you travelling?
The beginning terminal is at Osaka Station, so if you arrive at the unreserved section of the platform like 20 minutes early, you should be able to grab a seat.
