Oirase Stream - koyo

Generally, is it too early for koyo around 25 September 2018 or a later date in Octobe is better?
Ifm hoping to include Hokkaido as well.
But the main trip is the Oirase Stream area.
Noted all the advise / discussions that weather is unpredictable etc.

Koyo along the Oirase Stream is usually best in late October. Late September is much too early.
