Travel Check - May Itinerary

Hi guys,

Spent the day trying to figure out the travel between places and still confused on which is train, shinkansen, bus. I also got confused as some of the names are in Japanese. I also couldn't find how to get from Miyajima island to Tokyo. Please help!

The suggested 12-day itinerary of your link has many tourist spots, and also includes going back and forth probably to see a few events held on particular days; May 15 and 16 sound too packed.
Which spots and events do you hope to visit? Maybe all?

In railway stations in major cities in Japan, you see here and there signs which are written in English (or with alphabets for Japanese names); they are mostly of black letters on a yellow background.

For your information: You can travel by air from / to Sydney [SYD] to / from also Tokyo Haneda [HND], not only Kansai [KIX].

My issue is that my air bnb in tokyo cannot accept the luggage early so i think my only option is to leave the luggage at kyoto station, go do the overnight trip to hiroshima/miyajima and then go back, pick up the luggage from kyoto and head to tokyo air bnb. Can anyone else think of an alternative?

the Taqbin luggage transfer service can drop the luggage to a nearby combini store like 711 so if there is one near your Airbnb rental, check if they can do that for you.

That TA-Q-BIN option is not available generally to travelers from abroad.
(To take that option, your membership is necessary; to gain the membership, you have to register your address in Japan.)
