Hello everyone, I searched in several places but did not find a list of the required documents of the PR (permanent residence) card renewal. What documents do we need to renew you the PR? What about the period of waiting when renewing the PR? Thank you,

Per the above link you need only photo and passport to get residence card extended. Donft they need tax certificate or employment certificate etc?
I am asking because I have a PR but I am out of Japan for some years and I did not pay any tax during those years. Would there be a problem during extension?
Sorry to hijack this thread but throught itfs related to what I want to ask!

The above is talking about just extending the "residence CARD."
What you are talking about (tax papers and other documents) seems to be for the "resident STATUS" that is granted to you. If you are PR, you don't "renew" it, but I believe that the status will expire if you stay outside Japan without a re-entry permission beyond one year. I hope you do have re-entry permission.
I do not know what happens to the card extension if you let it expire while you are outside Japan.
