Lockers at Osaka Station 2018/4/3 21:12
Dear all,

we will be in Japan in May and are currently planning last details. We are so excited :)

I just checked with our accomodation in Osaka and unfortunately it is not possible to receive/use Takuhaibin Delivery Services at the accomodation since it is an official short-term appartment complex (we are staying for one week with side-trips in the Kansai region).

Thus I was wondering if there is any possiblity to store our luggage at the train station for 24+ hours something like a locker. It would be great to know the size and price, or a special term as so far google didn't reveil too much dependable information.

A little background to my question: we start our trip in Tokyo, then travel to Hiroshima for one night, head to Osaka for a whole week, travel to Mount Koya to spend the night at a temple, before heading to Hakone.

My idea is to travel from Toyko to Hiroshima changing trains in Osaka - we would then store our luggage in Osaka and head to Hiroshima with a small bagpack, picking up the luggage the next day.
When leaving Osaka, we would again store/lock our luggage, head to Mount Koya for the night, and pick our luggage up the next day as would transit in Osaka anyway on our way to Hakone.

Any advice if a suitcase or bigger backpack is advisable would be very much appreciated as well? an you find escalators etc at the trainstations?

Hi!

Both Osaka and Shin-Osaka have a ton of lockers and both have Baggage Rooms which are better if you need to leave your bags for several days.

Information on the one in Osaka Station can be found here:
https://www.osakastation.com/osaka-station-lockers-and-luggage-storage...

And this post from 2016 talks about the one in Shin-Osaka Station:
https://forums.japanstation.com/topic/27-baggage-room-at-shin-osaka-st...

And this map shows where the baggage room in Shin-Osaka Station is:

I'm sure Namba has lockers, but if you're traveling to Hakone post Koya, it might make more sense to just leave your bags in Shin-Osaka before your Namba trip. I find Shin-Osaka much easier to navigate then Namba, but I am sure others feel differently.

I hope this helps!
