Middle and summit station at Zao in April

We plan to stay a night at zao onsen, but we not sure that at this time (april 17 2018), Is the scenery at Middle station and summit station of zao ropeway still beautiful? Is it worth to go up there at this time?

What are your expectations? Snow? Snow monsters? Alpine flowers?
In late April, the ski resort is still open and you can expect the mountains to still be snow-covered, especially in the higher elevations. In the highest elevations, there is still a chance of new snow, so if it snows just ahead of your visit, you may be able to enjoy the look and feel of new snow. Otherwise, you should expect wet and heavy snow which many do not consider too attractive, but it depends on the person. Snow monsters do not exist anymore. It is too early for hiking.
