Karaoke and kids 2018/4/25 11:11
Hi all:

Casey here. My wife and 3 boys, 13, 10, 8 will be in Tokyo in September. I lived in Japan (Kyoto) 25 years ago for a couple of years and this is a trip of a lifetime taking the entire family after decades of talking about it!

I used to perform in clubs (guitar and signing) and several nights a month I would go with american and japanese friends to Karaoke until the wee hours of the night. I'm not talking about bars, but we would get a room with couches and a stage and sound equipment and we would sing and toast each other for hours!

Question: Can you bring kids to places like this? I've told my boys about real Karaoke for years and years. They would flip, they would have so much fun. They are all musical, and well, it would just be fantastic, but I don't want to get their hopes up if no kids are allowed. If we are able, can you provide recommendations for such Karaoke spots in both Tokyo and Kyoto?

Thanks all. :)
