Child of Permanent Resident 2018/6/14 19:16
Dear All,

I got permanent resident visa recently and I have applied "spouse or child of permanent resident" visa for my wife and my son who is 5 years old.

My wife got "spouse of child of permanent resident" visa for 3 years.
But my son got "Long term resident" visa for 3 years.

I expected the same "spouse or child of permanent resident" will be given to my son also but they gave "Long term resident"

Would you please tell whether all child of permanent resident will get "long term resident" or my son is special case?
what is the difference between "spouse or child of permanent resident" and "long term resident".

I was worried why they granted "long term resident" instead of "spouse of child of permanent resident"

Your son is not eligible for "Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident" because you were not a PR at the time of his birth (that is one of the requirements for children).
