hi! I currently live in the UK, however after visiting Japan firstly as a global exploration (Japan was one of the couple countries I visited), then secondly as a more in depth look at Japan and what it's really like living there, I've decided it's somewhere I want to live for some time. I currently make £24,000 a year in the UK, coming down to about £19,000 after tax according to this calculator: https://www.after-tax.co.uk/24000What is a similar wage in Japan? I understand I will need to work for it, I'm just intrigued what I should be expecting. Thanks!

What do you do for a living? That'll matter a lot. In Japan I'd make 4 million yen per year as Java developer. Here in the Netherlands I'm making 5.1 million yen per year. In the US I'd be making 7.9 million yen per year.
Maybe I should move to the US.

Very dependent on what you do for work, so you might get something similar in terms of payment, but costs of living are different.
