JR Pass and Hyperdia fare description?

Hi, I can't understand the fare description on Hyperdia. For example, below is the total fare fromUeno to Karuizawa by SHINKANSEN ASAMA 605. With Reserved Seat at 3110 Yen being added on top of the base fare, the Total Fare payable is 5,700 Yen. For Unreserved Seat, the fare is of course cheaper relatively.

Total:\ 5,700(TicketFare:\ 2,590 Seat Fee:\ 3,110)

Now, the question is, if I were to use Jr Pass to cover this whole journey, do I have to top up 3110 Yen of fare to reserve a seat?

JR pass covers the total fare.

For Unreserved Seat, the fare is of course cheaper relatively.

Only a little - even with non-reserved seat you need to pay. 5700 vs 5180 yen for that segment.
If you stand or do not manage to get a seat, it's still not much less than a reserved seat.
