Help with translating English to Japanese 2018/7/12 06:27
Hello,

I’d appreciate it if you could help me with translating some phrases. The wording may not be natural because I relied on Google-sensei, so I’d greatly appreciate any input from a native speaker!

1. 東京では強風が吹く/強風になるそうです。
(They said that there will be strong winds in Tokyo.)

2. 牛肉が品切れになった場合、何になさいますか?
(If we run out of beef, what would you like to have?)

3. お客様のステータス(?)によります。
(It depends on the customer’s status.)

4. こちらが赤(ワイン)のブレンドです。
(This wine is a red blend.)

Thanks in advance!

In what kind of situation are you going to use these phrases? I am guessing airline crew, "saying" these phrases to passengers, rather than having these written down?

Hello AK,

Yes, that’s right. How would I say those phrases in a natural but formal way?

1. 東京では強風が吹いているそうです。

2. 牛肉がなくなってしまった場合、何になさいますか?

3. お客様のステータス(?)によります。
What do you mean by "status"? Is it rank of milage program? If so, お客様のマイレージ会員のステータス(ランク)により異なります。

4.こちらが赤のブレンドワインです。

Hello Ki,

Thank you for your translations!

Yes, by “status,” I meant the customer’s status within the company’s mileage program.

Anyway, I really appreciate your help.
