Shinjuku to Katase Endoshima

Hi, i am travelling to Kamakura on 7 Oct. Oct 8 is a national holiday so i am thinking whether it is better to get a seat reservation for the Odakyu Romance car. I am quite confused with the info i see on websites. i can buy get a ticket for the romance car + a free pass. the freepass is for a roundtrip to Fujisawa. Does it mean that i must get off at Fujisawa or i can get off at Katase Endoshima Stn.

For peace of mind, I recommend to make an advance reservation. Alternatively, you could take regular trains to Enoshima. Or take the risk and try to make the reservation on the day of travel.

Assuming you refer to the Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass, you can take the train all the way to Katas Enoshima. The round trip portion of the pass covers Shinjuku-Fujisawa, while the free area portion of the pass starts from Fujisawa:

I would consider taking a regular train (JR lines, not Odakyu Romance car) to either Fujisawa or Kamakura station, and buy either {a} a day-pass from Enoden (Enoshima Electric Railway) train starting from 600 yen, or {b} JR Kamakura-Enoshima Pass for 700 yen. I do not know which pass you were considering, but make sure that pass is valid for two days (and not a one-day RT pass, since you are staying overnight in Kamakura area).

Many Thks for the advice. I was not clear. Yes, i am referring to the odakyu kamakura free pass. It is a day trip so i wanted to avoid any disappointment.

If you are only doing Kamakura and not Enoshima, then I'd use the JR trains directly to Kita-kamakura and Kamakura stations. Will save time as you will start your day in Kamakura, as opposed to 20-30 minute tram ride away.
