Lodging Koyasan - selection criteria? 2018/8/27 02:08
Hello,

We are planning a temple stay for 2 nights in Koyasan.
So fare we compared temples via:
- booking.com
- http://eng.shukubo.net/temple-lodging.html

We see that prices vary. Some questions:
- Do you know why the prices vary? What makes that one is more expensive than others?
- Which criteria could we use to make a choice?
- Which temples would you NOT advice based on experience or other knowledge?

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

We stayed at Eko-In so can't compare with the others. My guess would be that service and room quality are drivers of the price.

We really appreciated our stay there. It is close to the graveyard which I found to be the best part of our visit. The night tour was good to have some more background.

Would consider travelling to Koya and stay for one night. Then you almost have two days available which was more than enough for us.

I stayed at Shojoshin-in, it was very nice and very close to everything, quiet, quiet, good food, it's a 5 minute walk to OKUNOIN, take a look here:

and here I made the reservation too.
