Takayama-Nagoya Bus in Nov Reservation needed

Hi all,
I'm planning to take the bus from Takayama to Nagoya in mid-Nov on a Friday. I'm wondering is a reservation of seats required in advance, or the route would not be so busy ( aka I can purchase tickets on the spot, or the day before).
Will appreciate any advice or information. Thanks much. :)
p.s: I'm not using the pass, thus train ride might be a little too expensive.

It shouldn't be a problem. I did this several years ago, early November - purchased tickets on a weekday morning, a couple of hours before departure.
