Switching Shinkansen lines? 2018/10/25 05:38
Hi, me and my friends will be visiting Tokyo in a few months and we thought it will be a great idea to visit the old Toyosato Elementary School. Only question is when I look at google maps for directions, I was told to take the Nozomi line and get off at Nagoya to take the Hikari line towards Maibara. Can I really just hop off the Nozomi train and get into the Hikari train without any problems? Thanks!

Just take a Hikari all the way to Maibara.

Yes, you can change easily from Nozomi to Hikari but as pp said it makes more sense to take the hikari the entire way. Might be slower by a few minutes but no need to change trains and if you have a jr pass itfs free.

Enjoy your trip to Japan!
