Greetings everyone!
We are a party of four with baggage (max standard sized checked in baggage 62 inches/158 cm) taking the Shinkansen at TOKYO station to KYOTO on January 3, 2019.
Questions:
1.)Should we buy non reserved seats or reserved seats?
2) Is it hard to board the Shinkansen on that day?
3) What time should we go?
4) What Shinkansen would you recommend thatfs easier to get seats and place our luggage at the back?

You will have no problem going from Tokyo to Kyoto on Jan 3; everybody will be going the other way.
