Second hand anime store in Akihabara? 2018/12/24 08:25
I like the anime culture in japan and has been one of the reasons i have came. But I have been few days traveling around and found that the anime goods are a little expensive, thats why I would like to know if there are some second hand shops near akihabara/tokio, also if that shops are tax free.
Thanks you beforehand

Second hand stores are rarely, if ever, tax free. There is a market for older merchandise, but there is also a demand for it and the price will reflect it. Don't expect to get a cheap price for rare merchandise.

OP didn't say he was looking for rare stuff, only that buying new was expensive, which is certainly true.

I just use Amazon for that; even for new it is often much cheaper than physical stores.

No such tax free shop, wider floors of BOOK OFF is better.

Mandarake, Surugaya, Lashinbang are all good for merchandise, depending on what exactly you're looking for.

Maybe try a specialised forum for more specific advice. myfigurecollection has a lot of people who know the pop culture areas in Tokyo

Region codes are only for DVDs and games. Physical merchandise isn't restricted.
