Difference of living in Osaka vs Tokyo 2019/3/22 08:21
I am living in a city near osaka now but I will move to tokyo soon.
I have never been to tokyo so I don't know how expensive it is.
For example, rent, food, cloths, restaurants, sweets/chips/candies/cookies.

How big is the different...
If anyone know, please share with me :)

Above with a pinch of salt..
you will definitely see differences in term of rent and utilities.
Food/clothing wise should be not much different.

You will notice the difference in rent. Also the commuting distance for people working in Tokyo is generally longer than in/around Osaka. So you might find the balance between rent and (1) distance into central Tokyo and/or (2) distance to the nearest station different from what you experienced in Osaka area.

But (maybe they donft have this system anymore in Kobe/Osaka/Kyoto) in Tokyo the deposit/key money should be less. When we used to live there, the initial deposit in Kobe was awfully high.

(We used to live in Tokyo, then when we returned to Japan we lived in Kobe for several years, and now wefve been back to Tokyo for quite some years.)
