That depends on where/to whom you are submitting. Usually you get asked for the official duplicate issued within the past 3 months or 6 months.

AFAIK in Japan, most printed documents request from city hall are accepted within 3 months from issued date. Some place may accept those within 6 months from issued date.
Best check with relevant department for acceptance period.
From experience, kosekitohon used for resident status renewal have validity within 3 months of issued date.
