Travel from Tokyo to Shizuoka?

I�fm going to Japan for the RWC 2019 and need to get from Tokyo to Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa for one of the matches. What would be the best/cheapest way to get there? And would it be best staying in a hotel there and going back to Tokyo the next day or travelling straight back after the game? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Stuart.

Regarding staying somewhere in the region, when does the match end?

I would probably look at staying a day or so at Hamamatsu at the lake. Just for a change of scenery.

Take Tokaido shinkansen until Kakegawa or Shizuoka stn is the fastest and comfortable.

Car rent also comfortable, if u or ur friend have an IDP as group.
About 4 hrs(230 km/140 mi) travel including breaks at SA/PA 20-30 mins one or two times.

Most people attending Shizuoka games I expect will simply get the shinkansen there and back to Tokyo the same day.
