Hotels and ryokan recommendation in Nikko

Hello,
We will spend two weeks next April in Japan with the following oute Tokio-Nikko-kyoto-Hiroshima
Any recommendations for hotels ( medium price) and ryoka in Nikko?
Also restaurants recommendations in these cities are welcome

At Nikko we stayed at the Kanaya hotel which is a hotel, not a ryokan, but it is one of the classic hotels (built about 1890) and very lovely, like being on the Titanic without all of the water and screaming.
We didnt eat there but there is a steak place in the grounds, from memory. They have a sister hotel on the lake that might be worth looking at as well, it looks to have an outside bath.
