I will be staying in Gora and have a spare day to visit Chureito Pagoda.
How can I get there by train and how long will it take ?
Is taking a private car/guide an option ?

It is in a different Location than Hakone.
About 2.5 hours one way using buses and train.
If you just want to use trains. You would go via Odawara, to Yokohama, to Otsuki, to the station stop. Probably 4 hours one way.
I dont think it is worth the travel time just for one location.

Even by bus you are looking at a four hour round trip. Depending what else you are doing, one of the area passes might provide a bit of a discount, but it's not an especially cheap day-trip (but not necessarily very expensive compared to other day trips you might do.)
