Does anybody know if there is a bus from Kofu Station to Kanazakura Shrine? Various websites suggest that there's a local bus, but google translate unfortunately can't cope with the Yamanashi bus website! Thank you.

but google translate unfortunately can't cope with the Yamanashi bus website! Do you mean this website? http://yamanashikotsu.co.jp/route_bus/route_sp_info/shosenkyo/I tried to "translate with google translate" but google translate returns no result. So I will try to answer. I hope you can see Japanese character. Kofu station is "b{woX^[~i". The bus departs at 7:30, 9:15, 9:45, 10:25, etc. and takes about 45-50 min to Έε¬κγ (Shosenkyo Takiue), which is the closest bus stop to Kanazakura shrine. From Shosenkyo Takiue, you must walk 2.4 km to the shrine.

Thank you! I had the same problem with google translate returning a blank page, when I knew that there was information on the original Japanese site. I think the walk will be fine if it's a nice day. :) Thanks again.

I found this service when I looked the map William5 posted. http://www.shousenkyo.com/bus/This is the shuttle bus service around the Shosenkyo area. You can buy ticket(s) at several shops/restaurants in Shosenkyo, and then call for the service. One ride is 300 yen/person and 4 tickets are 1000 yen. I think you can ask for the telephone call at the shops/restaurants.
