Hakone Round Course 2019/10/19 02:05
Hello,

Due to the volcanic activity it is possible to do round course? Ropeway and/or cablecar are not operate, how the round can be done?
If yes, is it still worth buying a Hakone Pass?

Thanks in advance

Today, it is not possible to do the round course not only due to the volcano but also because of the typhoon. The current transportation situation is explained on this page, and it is changing on a daily basis:

Thank you for your reply.

I would like to know if this was possible before the typhoon and after the volcano activity warning in the May 2019.

Yes, it was possible by taking the substitute bus instead of the ropeway (or by taking buses via the Senjogahara area). Now, however, the substitute buses and buses via Senjogahara are not operating.

However, the situation is changing almost on a daily basis. I think that most buses will be back in service relatively soon. And also, the volcanic alert level was lowered recently, which could mean that the ropeway will also resume service in the not so far future. No guarantees given, though.

The sightseeing boat has resumed operation. The condition in Hakone must have improved.

Odakyu has suspended selling the FreePass. So much is out of action for several months it might be a while before it is sold again. But it only really offered savings when things were working - current situation is pretty bad (based on first hand experience).
You could visit some areas, but the loop just seems too impractical until more of the transport system is back up and running (which for the Tozan train will be months - serious structural damage to bridges).
