How to renew Japanese passport

I have a daughter who is has japanese passport but soon it will expired. How can I renew it without her father who is a japanese. I guess I need koseki tohon, I have one but I didnt know if has an expiration date. Can I renew the passport without the latest koswki tohon? I need some clear answer please. Thanks in advance. 😀
