Chubu Weekend Mountain Trip

I live in Aichi and am looking to take a day or weekend trip to accessible nature, specifically the mountains.
My past favorites were… - Tateyama - Kamikochi
I can’t drive, which is why accessible is important, but I also want to be surrounded by nature. Anything similar to Tateyama and Kamikochi is appreciated!

You could take the Iida line to Komagane and enjoy the Senjojiki Cirque (accessible via Komagatake ropeway) and possibly also visit the Tenryukyo area. https://www.chuo-alps.com/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senj%C5%8Djiki_Cirquehttp://tenryukyou.com/english/I once did a three-day, two-night trip with an overnight in Komagane (stayed at a wonderful ryokan called Futari Shizuka) and an overnight in Iida (stayed at an unpretentious but really fabulous small hotel called Hotel Yayoi). We very much enjoyed the scenery at Senjojiki and the river gorge Tenryukyo. Very light hiking for us, but you could do more if you wanted and planned. Both places we spent the night had excellent food and good baths.

Following up on above suggestion, the Limited Express Inaho on the Iida line runs from Toyohashi to Iida (I think you have to change to a local train if you want to go any further, such as to Komagane). The Inaho is a nice, scenic ride but doesn't run very often. (But the local trains make a million stops and take forever.) In Komagane, you will need to take a bus (or I guess a cab) from the JR Station to the ropeway. (We took a bus from our ryokan, and it was very easy.) At any rate, you definitely do not need a car, but you do have to have some experience researching train times and local buses. I would not attempt to do Senjojiki as a day trip from Aichi. Tenryukyo, maybe. But either (or possibly both) would be a nice weekend excursion. Note that if you want to hike at Senjojiki you have to wait until midsummer or so. It was far too snowy when I was there in late May (but still very pretty).
There appear to be some other very nice places along the Iida line if you do your homework. We just picked the two most popular ones as we didn't want to cram too much in. I hope to go back someday...
