Minor misdemeanor visa 2022/5/29 07:47
Hi there,

I am in the process of applying for a visa with CoE for Japan. I noticed we have to tick a question regarding whether you have been convicted of any crime or offense.

I have recently scratched a parked car and didn't inform the police right away, got a fine and probably a record in the big data base in my country, but not on the personal record.

I want to be honest and tick that box - do you think this will automatically disqualify me from entering Japan? or getting the visa?

Do you have a criminal record and jail time from this event? If no? Then no is the box you tick.

It is in a register which would be seen as a criminal record.
No, there was no jail, just a fine.
