Japan open to tourists October 11

Japan is open to independent tourists on October 11. Is this date specific to Japan time? We have a few vacation days set up and want to leave right away by Oct 10 and be in Tokyo by October 11. We are traveling as independent tourists and not booking our travels from any agency

Of course this is with respect to Japan Time. I am pretty sure that arrival time into Japan will be the deciding factor. However, no details besides the one sentence made by Mr. Kishida a few days ago have been announced yet. Details are still unclear. I personally, for example, am still wondering whether all 68 partner countries will immediately profit from visa-free entry or just some of them. If these matters are important to you, I recommend to wait until the official details are out.
