Tokyo and Kyoto in mid January

Hi folks,

I will be in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka between 11-22 January. I've been to Japan in early January (Hiroshima 1-5 Jan), but never been during the winter season itself.

I'm preparing for some clothings/layering and itinerary. My itinerary usually comprises of few side trails. I didn't have issue when hiking at Miyajima on 31 Dec, but several articles mentioned that Tokyo and Kyoto might have some snow in January. How cold it will be for Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka at mid Jan, as compared to early January, e.g. will it be colder or will there be snow?

Also, is there any recommendation on certain event/place/food to enjoy during winter season in January?

There is no difference between 1-5 Jan and 11-22 Jan weather. Wear the same type clothes as your original visit.
