Himeji using Kansai Area Pass

Hi, I read on various sites that the Kansai Area Pass does not cover shinkansen nor the limited express trains. However when I searched on HyperDia, the suggested routes all involve either. I understand I should be able to use the pass to Himeji but how is it possible to do so using just the lines covered?

Himeji is permitted by kansai area pass
1 Day=2400 yen
2 Day=4600 yen
3 day=5600 yen
4 day=6800 yen

For on hyperspace and unpick shinskansen and limited express options.
Heaps of local and rapids go to Himeji.
