Arriving at Mashiko ware Tochigi 2022/11/22 03:32
We will land on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at three in the afternoon in Tokyo - Narita. We want to get to the village of traditional Japanese pottery Mashiko. I saw that Kanto company has a bus from Utsunomiya bus ( #14) to the village, but I didn't understand until what time can I catch The bus on Sunday night. Or because there will not be a bus should I stay for 1 night in Tokyo?

On Sunday nights, the last bus leaves at 5:43 pm.

The easiest route is to take a limousine bus from Narita Airport to Moka(真岡), then take the Moka Railway(真岡鉄道) from Moka.

Alternatively, you can take the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Oyama Station(小山駅), transfer to the Mito Line(水戸線) to Shimodate Station(下館駅), and then take the Moka Railway(真岡鉄道) to Mashiko(益子).
You can search the route from Narita to Mashiko on this screen.

Bus and train schedules for that period have not yet been finalized.
Most Japan railway and bus companies are reviewed it every MARCH usual.

If ur goal is to visit the "Spring pottery market fes" held in GW,
fr the day u arrive until Fri will be the busiest time for most factories.
Although accommodation rates may be higher during the GW period,
so i do not recommend going to Mashiko town at arriving date in Japan.

The vids are fr last "Spring Fes". The first day was rainy, but the 2nd day was fine.
In the 1st vid, she said, "there are more modern styles one by young artists".
Perhaps next year, the fest will be held again fr 4/29 (national holiday) to 5/7 (Sunday).
And see also the video of the "Autumn Fes" held in this month.

The Japanese page also had information on nearby accommodations,
but Idk if they are willing to accept foreign visitors, tho.
