Nagasaki to Fukuoka

Any stop or overnight suggestions travelling from Nagasaki to Fukuoka? Probably 2 nights along the way before final stop at Fukuoka.

Unzen is one, though it is not exactly on the way.
But if you want a really nice place to see en route, go see the Yutoku Inari Shrine. It's one of the very best Inari shrines in the country.

And you could stop overnight at Takeo Onsen. More known to the locals than foreign tourists. The Arita and Imari porcelain is famous there, and the Arita Porcelain Park will make you feel like you walked into the Twilight Zone.

Karatsu is nice. The castle isnt original, but it is pleasant, with good views. The train ride from there back to Fukuoka is very nice, along the coast.

Not necessarily for an overnight stop but at least tor a full daytrip: Dazaifu

In Yoshinogari I enjoyed the local prehistoric park.

But for an overnight I'd probably select an onsen town. Takao comes to mind. But I have never been there.

Need advise on my route planning..

1) Fukuoka Airport direct to Nagasaki - is there direct train service or I will need change train service in between? If need to change train service, how many changing points?

2) Nagasaki to SAGA - plan to drive instead and do some stops in between to visit. Is this advisable?

3) SAGA to Hakata - is it better to drive or to take train service?

Regarding driving vs trains. Id say it depends on your actual itinerary but driving dies sound like a good idea in Kyushu.
Dazaifu is reachable by bus from Fukuoka (but not sure how easy from other places) but many other points you might want to see between Nagasaki and Fukuoka are not. Or not that conveniently. So if driving is an option for you, Ifd seriously consider it.

Do you mean Saga Prefecture or Saga City? it makes large difference between two.

Hi there...need more help and advise...do I have to buy train tickets in advance from Fukuoka Airport to Nagasaki? I had been searching on the forum but does not seem to be able to get to what I want.
I need only single trip (not the 7-days passes).
Also single trip from SAGA station to Hakata - do I need need to get train tickets in advance?
