Later blooming cherry blossom spots in Kansai

I'm going to be in the Kansai area for 3 nights April 11-14. Plan on going to Mt Yoshino as a day trip either on the 12th or 13th. Are there other later blooming cherry blossom spots in the region that I should look at?

In general, higher elevations mean later cherry blossoms. I know that I did a temple stay on Mount Koya after Golden Week, and the cherry tree at the the temple had falling petals. The elevation of the temples is about 800 meters.
Mount Yoshino has cherry trees planted at different elevations to extend the blooming season. Mount Yoshino is 350 meters in elevation.
I know there is a nice hot springs area near Kobe, that is reached by cable car and ropeway up a mountain. Try the Arima Onsen on Mount Rokko, which is about 350 meters in elevation.
Around Kyoto, there are several places up in the mountains around it. Kibune, Korama, and Yoshiminedera come to mind.
Good Luck in planning your vacation.

If I remember correctly, Kurama mostly had the late blooming double variety, but the one year I saw them there, it was later than mid April and more like the around the 20th?

Oopsc rkold is correct on the spelling. It was Kurama that I was attempting to mention. I saw a forecast that predicted full bloom about 4 days earlier than average. If rkold is correct, then Kurama looks like it might be a good bet.

You may want to consider Haradani-en garden. https://www.google.com/maps/place/...https://www.facebook.com/haradanien/There are many types of cherry blossoms and most are late-blooming type. Other than the cherry blossoms. they have azaleas, hanakaido, and more (see goole map and their Facebook page). Interestingly they change the admission fee depending on the flower situation (500-1500 yen). One drawback is that public transportation is inconvenient so that you must take a taxi from Kitaoji subway station (about 2000 yen one way) or around Kinkakuji (about 1000 yen). I went there on 2021 April and it was worth the trip.
