Which Yamabiko will go to Oyama station? 2023/3/12 04:01
I am planning to head down to Ashikaga flower park in May and am buying the JR pass. I understand from the guide that some Yamabiko trains do stop at Oyama and some bypass it entirely. The question I am having is how do I identify which ones will stop there based on the JR shinkansen timetable if I am setting off from Ueno. http://www.shinkansen.co.jp/jikoku_hyo/en/touhoku/tdh_ueno.html

Maybe just use google maps? There are a lot of other trains that go to Omiya as well including from Shinjuku area. So if you arenft staying close to Tokyo station maybe some if the others are more convenient.
Many have green cars where you can buy a seat. In case the normal car has only standing room.

The OP said Oyama, not Omiya :)

By the way, you may try JR East's website.

If you already have the Japan Rail Pass or some JR East's area pass, you may be able to reserve the ticket, and you will know which Shinkansen trains stop at Oyama.
