Hotel luggage forwarding?

I'm taking a trip to Shikoku and would like to send our bags from Takamatsu to Kochi City so we can travel lighter through the Iya Valley area. Yamato does not have airport counters in Shikoku at all. I've sent inquires to some hotels but have not heard back yet. Will most hotels offer luggage forwarding of some kind? My assumption is it will be okay as long as it's an established hotel that might have courier contracts like a Dormy Inn or Toyoko.
