Itinenary: Tokyo-Kyoto-Kumamoto-Fukuoka

Hi!
Could you suggest what to do and where to stay for the 5 of us who will be traveling end of Nov to early Dec this year?
Flying into Tokyo & heading to Kyoto on the same day.
Kyoto (3 Days 2 Nights)
Kyoto - Kumamoto
Kumamoto (4D 3N)
Kumamoto - Fukuoka
Fukuoka (4D 3N)
Which type of JR passes should we get?

You can buy Japan bus pass 7 day=15300 yen
Or japan nationwide rail pass 7 consecutive days=29650 yen cover Tokyo, kyoto, fukuoka

First of all, I assume that you will leave Japan through Fukuoka, although you do not explicitly state it.

A 7-day Japan Rail Pass would be slightly cheaper than regular tickets from Tokyo via Kyoto to Kumamoto, assuming you can still buy one under the old price. You would have to buy it through a travel agent before the new one starts going on sale.

Likewise, a Sanyo Sanin Northen Kyushu Pass costs about the same as regular tickets for the part from Kyoto via Kumamoto to Fukuoka:

But a 14-day pass does not pay off even under the pass' old cost.
