About Kansai transport 2023/6/11 21:35
Hi, Ifm planning a Kansai area trip. My flight will arrive KIX at 1515, if I want to go to Hiroshima, what transport should I take? Mainly I booked hotel nearby Namba Osaka, I also want to visit Kobe, Nara.
Is it worth to buy JR bullet train tickets to travel from city to city?

Hi, Ifm planning a Kansai area trip.
My flight will arrive KIX at 1515, if I want to go to Hiroshima, what transport should I take?

When will you travel? In what month?
Will you go also to Miyajima Island?
(Hiroshima is outside the Kansai area.)

You first head to Shin-Ōsaka Station,
then make a transfer there to the Shinkansen.

From KIX,
you can take a JR Limited Express Haruka to Shin-Ōsaka;
you enter the Shinkansen zone via the transfer gate.

From Namba,
you can take a subway train to Shin-Ōsaka;
you exit the subway via the gate,
follow signs for the Shinkansen,
and you enter the JR Shinkansen zone via the gate.

I also want to visit Kobe, Nara.

You can visit Kobe and Himeji
on your way to or back from Hiroshima.

From Namba,
you can take a subway train to Umeda,
exit the subway,
walk to nearby Ōsaka Station of JR, enter JR,
and take a Special Rapid train to Sannomiya in Kobe.
(I recommend you avoid the weekday morning commuters' rush.)

You can go between Shin-Ōsaka and Himeji by the Shinkansen.
From Sannomiya,
you can take a JR Special Rapid train to Himeji.

JR-West Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass
can cover your JR rides
between Shin-Ōsaka | Ōsaka
and Nara | Kobe | Himeji | Hiroshima | Miyajima.

To get to Nara,
because you start from Namba,
Kintetsu may be a little easier than JR;
you can take a Kintetsu train
from Ōsaka-Nabma to Kintetsu-nara.

Kintetsu Rail Pass (1-day or 2-day)
can cover your Kintetsu rides;
this pass can work also as Nara Kotsu bus pass.

A Kansai-Hiroshima Pass would work going from Kansai to Hiroshima and back, but you don't give enough info on your whole trip. How many days are you staying, and are you only going to those 2 regions, or moving on to somewhere else like Tokyo?

Also, there is no bullet train to Nara. For Kobe, if going to the Nunobiki Herb Garden, Shin-Kobe (the bullet train station) would be a good station to go to. But for most everything else in Kobe, Sannomiya Station is much closer to where you want to be. For that, you can take a JR local or rapid train. It's also possible to take a Hankyu train from Osaka to Kobe.
