Re-opening Koyasan Choishi Michi trail

I Would like to hike the Koyasan Choishi Michi trail tomorrow (11/07/23), did they re-open it already? Thank you!

No, the trail is still closed, and the reopening date is undecided.

It was just announced that the section between Koyasan and Yatejaya (矢立茶屋) is open; however, it is somewhat challenging to get to Yatejaya. The location of Yatejaya is shown here:

Google Map can't seem to find a way.

I doubt that there is public transportation. Maybe you can walk from the nearest station, but please check whether it is safe. Or take a taxi from a station that has taxis.

Well, I'm planning to go in October... so would appreciate if anybody has an update? I've seen pics of the marking stones dated 2-3 weeks ago and it looks fine... Thanks!

I actually just found someone in AllTrails who did the entire trail on Sept. 8th. No pb apparently!

has anyone found out any new information about the state of the Choishi Michi? we are experienced hikers and I'm sure we can overcome the current state of the trail, however only would attempt it if it's permitted.

Just did the trail today (Oct 13th 2023). Even though a sign at the start says its closed, you can walk it. You can see where some mudslides happened and sometimes a tree fell across the path, but you can climb around it. Would not recommend after fresh rain though, maybe then it is too slippery.
