Dear visitor, if you know the answer to this question, please post it. Thank you!

Deciding on JR Pass 2023/9/1 15:07
My itinerary is Narita - Tsukuba - Tokyo (Shijuku / Shibuya) - Hakone - Narita.

I am struggling to decide if the JR pass is worth it. I see that the Tsukuba Express is private, so in and out of Tsukuba I will still be paying additional service fees.
I also don't believe Hakone is covered by the JR?

Help please! Doing a lot of research but not getting definitive answers.

Definitely not worth it.
The total for those trains is only about 6000 yen.

I wouldn't get a JR Pass, because it wouldn't pay off.

For getting between Tokyo and Narita, I recommend taking the Keisei Skyliner between Nippori Station and Narita. From Nippori Station, you can connect to local lines such as the Yamanote Line to other parts of Tokyo (such as Shinjuku).

For getting between Tokyo and Hakone, I recommend taking the Odakyu Railway between Shinjuku and Hakone Yumoto stations.

And depending on what you are doing in Hakone and if it pays off. The Hakone Free Pass gives you a round trip on the Odakyu Railway between Shinjuku and Hakone, and also access to the Hakone Tozan buses, the ropeway, cable car, sightseeing boats and discounted admission to a few attractions.
