Getting from Kyoto Station to Shinsaibashi 2023/9/6 23:44
Hi all!

I've seen many options to get to Osaka from Kyoto. A bit overwhelmed by them. We are 2 ladies each with a luggage. Do Rapid and Local trains mean subway lines that stop at most stations? Other than Shinkansan, what would be a more comfortable ride for a Saturday afternoon from Kyoto Station to Shinsaibashi Station?
Thank you!

You could so the shinkansen and transfer to the subway at Shin-Osaka - that would probably be quickest, but most expensive.
Almost as fast (depending on transfer times) is the regular commuter trains like the JR Tokaido Sanyo Main Line to Osaka and then transfer to the subway.

Must it be JR Kyoto station? If you easily get to Keihan line or Hankyu line, you may also consider these train lines. Personally I like Keihan's "Premium car" which costs 500 yen more, but more comfortable. Seat is secured and there is a luggage rack.

If you avoid evening rush hours (17-19), you can take your seat rather easily though.
