Ryujin Bus detour on Hongu Taisha route

Hi everyone!

I read from the Ryujin Bus website (https://www.ryujinbus.com/en/article/3981/) that there is a bus detour along the route of Hosshinmon-oji from Hongu Taisha-mae due to slope construction.

We will be taking a bus from Kawayu Onsen to Hosshinmon-oji and then trekking from Hosshinmon-oji to Hongu Taisha on 25 Sep (Mon). After the trek, we will be taking a bus from Hongu Taisha-mae back to Kawayu Onsen.

Should we be concerned about the slope construction?

The webpage you linked seems to be pretty clear which stations are being skipped and when there will be a bus. So unless you plan to use any of the skipped bus stops you are good to go.

We are not using the skipped bus stops so it should be fine for us as far as bus route is concerned.

We are more concerned with our trekking from Hosshinmon-oji to Hongu Taisha and was wondering if our trekking will be affected by the slope construction. Since the notice was from a bus company, we thought they may not be concerned with the trekking trails. Was wondering if there are people on the ground who can shed some information of the trekking information.

Happy to report that the trekking trails are not affected by the slope construction. We were able to complete the trail from Hoshimon Oji to Hongu Taisha and marvel at the majestic nature along the way.
