Hokuriku Arch Pass from Toyama to Takayama

We're going to Takayama from Toyama.

We understand that the Hokuriku Arch Pass covers only trip from Toyama to Inotani via the limited express Wide View Hida
(https://jprail.com/travel-informations/other-rail-passes/rail-pass-for...).

Can we continue to Takayama from Inotani using the same limited express Wide View Hida without getting off the train and pay for the Inotani-Takayama fare only upon getting off at Takayama? Or do we need to get off at Inotani to purchase ticket for Takayama?

If possible we want to avoid transferring trains in Inotani.

You can stay on board, and the procedure differs depening on whether you use a reserved or unreserved seat.

If you use an unreserved seat, you should be able to pay the difference on board to the train conductor. Or you could buy the ticket in advance at a ticket office.

If you want to use a reserved seat, you should buy the ticket from Inotani to Takayama in advance at the ticket office and get the same seat for both sections so that you don't have to change seats.

With JR reserved seat=990+1730=2720 yen

I would buy a reserved seat ticket in advance. Just show you pass and pay the difference at the counter.
