hibachi candle? 2023/12/8 08:00
Hi, we have the little clay personal hibachis at home, like they use in ryokans. But I cant find the burners that are used - they look to be wax or paraffin, and they dont have any odour. They look a bit like a tea light candle, but get plenty hotter, and they are used for the hibachis for grilling or for the one person soups and nabes.

Can someone help me with what these things are called?

it is probably not hibachi.
what you mentioned is like this:

the heat source is called as ŒÅŒ`”R—¿. it has been used for cooking in mountain climbing or camping.

Hibachi: A room heater

Shichirin: A grill to cook food

As suggested, you're probably looking for fuel for the latter.

Traditionally, charcoal was used to heat it outdoors, but in modern times, what we call "ko-kei-nen-ryo" (fuel tablets) are used so that we could safely cook indoors.

Fantastic, thanks guys. Yes they were sold as a Hida Hibachi konro or something, they look a lot like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=z7hQYzQu70U

But the candles you have linked are exactly what we need, I will see if we can get them brought in to Australia, I will try finding ko-kei-nen-ryo.
