Are these boots OK for Snow Festival? 2023/12/13 00:55
I bought these boots at a good price to see if they are sufficient for Sapporo's Snow Festival in Feb 2024. I have wide feet and this is the only affordable boot I found that offers Wide size. However, I am concerned about the thin outersole. Assuming that the seams are sealed from snow and ice, do you think this is OK for the weather conditions? Thank you.

Looks pretty good. You can buy inner soles with an aluminum under and a fluffy over that will add a lot of insulation.

Looks perfect to me. In fact, my husband, who is not used to walking on snow, simply wore his regular city loafers to the Snow Festival and while sightseeing in the Sapporo and Hakodate snow.

If you're worried about your feet getting cold, you can always insert disposable warmers like "kutsu-hokaron" that you can buy in any drug store throughout Japan during winter.
