JR East South Hokkaido Pass

We're going to Japan on January 1. We'll arrive at Narita airport exactly at 11:30 am local time and would like to go straight to Sapporo using the JR East South Hokkaido pass. However, when we tried to buy the pass online, it showed that we could only claim it in the JR Hokkaido area.
Is there another way for us to claim it within Narita airport or around Tokyo? The purpose for buying the pass is to save money by using the pass going to and from Sapporo.
We cant ride the plane because we're going to other areas like yamagata and we'd like to maximize the pass.
Can anyone help us please? Thanks!

I eventually figured it out LOL. It says "Hokkaido Rail Pass" needs to be picked up in JR Hokkaido. Got confused. Hihi! Thank you :)
