Hello,
for purchasing a Hakone Freepass is it necessary to make a seat reservation for trains with the Odakyu Line if I do NOT use the Romancecar?

No, it is not even possible to make seat reservations on all other Odakyu trains. Only the Romance Car allows for seat reservations.
